How we work

Internal Family Systems

It’s one thing to talk about parts of yourself, it’s another to access them, feel them, and heal them.

I recognize just how important self-work is, how important relationships are, and how little we are taught about how to do them!

I want to know what lights you up, I want you to have space to be messy in therapy.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a non-pathologizing, evidence-based and extremely liberating therapy model. Using the IFS approach I will help you build access to Self energy (authentic self, higher self) to bring compassion, and curiosity to parts of you. We all contain parts, (like feelings, emotions, sensations, memories or images) and these parts contain beliefs about the self, sometimes they carry extreme burdens that developed out of traumatic situations.

In the therapeutic process using IFS, we create and build relationships to parts of us that are in extreme roles, to help them unburden or unload those extreme believes to heal them.

Art Therapy

Art therapy is a psychotherapy modality that utilizes art as a mode of healing just like talk therapy utilizes talking! Through my training as a Board Certified Art Therapist the creative process is the most interesting part of art for me. Unblocking and flowing, sitting with a place and studying the world thru seeing the parts we sometimes overlook or don’t notice because we’re moving too fast. To create the space to slow down, sit with what unfolds emotionally. The end product is a manifestation of the energy that is flowing through and out into the world. The possibilities for the application of art therapy are endless and describing it here doesn’t do it justice, because the feelings and energy that emerges in the room between the client artist, the art product and the therapist. No two sessions are alike.

is therapy right for me?

Do you struggle to know what you’re actually feeling and naming what emotions you’re feeling in your body?

Do you struggle with obsessive or passive thoughts about your body?

Do you struggle with disordered eating, or obsess about what you are eating all day?

Do you often feel abandoned by others or fear being abandoned in relationships?

Do you have a strong sense of self-hatred that keeps you stuck in a loop of self-judgement, anxiety and depression? Does this part of you keep you stuck in toxic relationships?

Do you feel like you keep attracting the same toxic, emotionally unavailable partner?

Do you long to feel loved and feel like you’re settling for “what you can get”?

Do you feel like you’re constantly trying to fit yourself into other people’s boxes to feel accepted for loved?

What questions are you carrying in your body that are not your own?

Have you had a difficult relationship with a parental figure that has strongly informed your views of relationships, intimacy, and love?

what therapy is like with me

In therapy with me you can deep listening, compassion and direct feedback about places in which defenses are up.

My goal is to help facilitate a relationship with your Self and all parts of yourself.

I show up as myself, I’ll talk to you like a normal person, sometimes we laugh, sometimes i’ll say fuck! I want to model healthy human connection and vulnerability for my clients so i might share my own emotional experiences.

I bring levity to situations that can sometimes feel overwhelming or heavy.

I connect with client on a soul level. Through wildness, through messiness, through pain, through adventure, I will help make space for creativity, the unconscious, spirit, self-expression and healing.

what could be

I want to help women un-mask themselves, to recognize that they don’t need “fixing”,  to stop abandoning themselves for others.

I want to help you to trust yourself, express their souls essence, and confidently embody their authenticity and become the source of your own healing.

You can stop staying small, and start expanding in your authenticity.

Who would you be if the sun was shining on you?

You are deserving of healthy, beautiful relationships.
